Susanna Reid is a go-to presenter for a number of topics and she is unafraid to get stuck in. She has spoken to the likes of Prime Ministers and other political figures such as David Cameron, Al Gore and Vince Cable, covered terror attacks in Paris and Brussels, trained with Olympic hopefuls, reported on political referendums and elections, was embedded with British troops on the front-line in Afghanistan, and chatted with showbusiness giants like Meryl Streep, David Tennant, and John Cleese.
Susanna Reid is a much-loved host and personality, and has participated in shows such as Strictly Come Dancing (2004-) in 2013 where she made it all the way to the grand final, finishing in second place.
Her live television and radio experience makes her a professional and down-to-earth choice for hosting any type of private or public event.
Croydon-born Susanna started her public career at the age of 12, starring in a stage production of Agatha Christie’s Spider’s Web (1982), before moving to television in The Price (1985) on Channel 4. Reluctant to continue on an acting path, Susanna went to Bristol University in 1989 where she studied politics and philosophy, before training as a journalist at Cardiff University’s Centre for Journalism.
Susanna started her presenting career on BBC Radio Bristol before becoming a popular reporter for Radio 5 Live. In 2003, after the regular presenter failed to show up, a heavily-pregnant Susanna became a stand-in host for BBC News 24, which quickly turned into a permanent position. Up until 2014, Susanna was best known for presenting BBC Breakfast on BBC1 alongside Bill Turnball. In 2014, Susanna moved from the BBC to ITV to front breakfast programme Good Morning Britain, which replaced its former breakfast show Daybreak (2010-2014). She co-hosts the show with a number of different male presenters such as Richard Madeley, Adil Ray, Alex Beresford, Richard Bacon, and Alistair Campbell. Susanna and Piers Morgan, her co-presenter for six years, featured in a 2018 episode of Hollyoaks (1995-) as themselves.
Susanna has often had to step into the host’s chair, in the short-term and the long-term, and temporarily replaced Andrew Marr as the host for the Andrew Marr Show (2005-2021) in 2013 following his stroke.
Susanna is a popular face on our screens, fronting a number of television shows including Sunday Morning Live (2010-), The Politics Show (2003-2011), Breakfast with Frost (1993-), the 2009 and 2020 Oscars (2009; 2010), and the 2013 New Year Live (2013) alongside Gary Barlow.
