Sara Damergi has a unique background, with her father being a Lebanese Muslim and her mother British. She has lived in Beirut and escaped the war as a child with her mother, but now counts Lebanon as her second home, and it is also the location of her property business.
MEDIA
Sara Damergi is best known for her work on daytime programmes such as Coast vs Country (2016-21) and A Place in the Sun (2012-), A Place in the Sun: What Happened Next (2024) Winter Sun (2012-15), and A Place in the Sun: Home or Away (2004-19), for Channel 4, and as a reporter for BBC’s Sunday Morning Live (2019).
She has also presented The Great Big British Quiz (2005-07) for Channel 5, was the lead presenter on international extreme sports show The Crunch, which was filmed across China, and was the roving red carpet reporter for MTV’s The Paparazzi Show.
She has written about her experiences, which include staying with tribes in rural Vietnam, an aristocratic artist in Sri Lanka, cruising in Kerala, and snowboarding in Japan for a range of online magazines and The Huffington Post.
BUSINESS
Sara comes from a family background of property development and property finding for Arabic VIPs; has bought, sold, renovated, and rented properties in the UK; and is occasionally involved in helping out with her late-father’s projects in the Middle East.
She has an impressive property portfolio of flats and shop in the UK and Lebanon, some of which she works alongside her brother.
In 2009, she founded the online talent directory www.castingnow.co.uk, which supports new talent breaking into TV, film, theatre, and modelling. Then in 2021, she co-founded Nektta, a smart city focussed company offering eco-friendly charge tech and parking solutions for e-bikes and e-scooters.
In 2020 she became a board member of property management company PropTech Sweden, and a Director in 2022 of Damergi Group, her own property development and rental business.
Sarah is also an advisor for the 3D home printing charity New Story, who are working on building the first ever 3D printed village!
Travel and immersion in new cultures, traditions, and alternative lifestyles is a passion of Sara’s, as are issues in The Middle East. She was involved in a charity drop to a refugee camp in the Bekaa Valley, and her late-father was once an advisor to the Prime Minister of Lebanon.
VEGANISM
In February 2018, Sara launched ‘The Veganuary Campaign’, hosting a vegan fair in Frome, Somerset. The fair offered visitors the opportunity to explore plant-based living, selling items including vegan cheese, chocolate, and clothes.
CORPORATE WORK
Sara has used her expertise and presenting background to host a number of live corporate events, chairing debates and leading panels for private and corporate events, including for the housing company WHG, and the Landlord Investment Show.
