Suzi Perry grew up surrounded by music thanks to her Dad’s job as a band manager and venue promoter, and her Godfather, who was a founding member of White Snake. It is thanks to this upbringing that meant she has a deep love for TV, radio and live performances.
SPORT
Suzi is best known for presenting all things motor. Her career as a sports reporter started in 1997, when she began presenting the coverage of BBC Sport’s Grand Prix motorcycle racing, and stayed in that position for an impressive 13 years!
In 2010, Suzi was hit with a number of health conditions including an ectopic pregnancy and viral meningitis, which meant she stood down from her motorcycle presenting, as the extensive travelling was having a negative effect on her work/life balance. Two years later, she replaced Jake Humphries as the presenter of the BBC’s Grand Prix car racing coverage, covering 10 live shows.
In 2015, she announced she would present a new F1 show for BBC Two titled Formula 1 Rewind. A year later, she joined BT Sport, presenting their World Championship motorcycle racing, FIM Speedway, and World Rally Championship coverage.
It isn’t all about fast cars though. Suzi has covered a range of other sporting events, including Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, the London Marathon, London Olympics, the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race, and the Great North Run.
OTHER MEDIA
Sport is not Suzi’s only love; her passion for all things technology saw her host Channel 5’s The Gadget Show (2004-2012) for 17 series. She has also presented features on This Morning (2010-11), and Good Morning Britain, and has even reported from the Trooping of the Colour. In 2017, she presented Suzi Perry’s Queens of the Road for BBC One, a documentary following three Northern Irish women who compete in the dangerous sport of road racing.
Her credits also include How to Take Stunning Pictures (2010), City Hospital (1998-2007), Treasure Hunt (2002-03), A Question of Sport (2004-22), Robot Wars (2016), The One Show (2013), Richard Osman’s House of Games (2021), and Pointless Celebrities (2015-2022).
