Daughter of the children’s TV presenter Johnny Ball, Zoe Ball was born in Blackpool, growing up in Buckinghamshire.

Starting out as a runner and researcher she was soon given the opportunity to get in front of the TV camera and has never looked back.

The mid-nineties saw her fronting Top of The Pops alongside Jayne Middlemiss and Jo Whiley.

At the turn of the millennium, long-standing friend and colleague Chris Evans’ production company Ginger Productions teamed her up with Jamie Theakston in the music and chat show The Priory.

She then co-hosted the 2002 Brit Awards with Frank Skinner.

In 2005, she started her involvement with the talent show Strictly Come Dancing became a contestant on the third series partnered by Ian Waite

In 2009 she was then reunited with Jamie Theakston, co-presenting Channel 5’s quiz series Britain’s Best Brain.

In 2011, she took over from Claudia Winkleman as the host of Strictly Come Dancing‘s sister show It Takes Two.

In 2013 she made one of many charitable appearances co-hosting BBC’s One Children in Need telethon, alongside Terry Wogan, Fearne Cotton, Nick Grimshaw and Tess Daly.

In March 2018, Zoe took part in the ‘Hardest Ride Home’ challenge, cycling from Blackpool to her then home town of Brighton to raise money for Sport Relief. As a result of her efforts, she raised a total of nearly £1.2m

In October 2018, she was announced by Chris Evans as new host of The Radio 2 Breakfast Show, which she presented until the end of 2024.
