Susanna Reid is one of the most recognisable and respected figures in British broadcasting, with a career spanning over two decades across the BBC and ITV.
She is best known as the lead presenter of ITV’s Good Morning Britain, where she has anchored the programme since its launch in 2014, covering major global events, political interviews, and human-interest stories with clarity and compassion. Reluctant to continue on an acting path, Susanna went to Bristol University in 1989 where she studied politics and philosophy, before training as a journalist at Cardiff University’s Centre for Journalism.
Susanna’s journalistic career began at BBC Radio Bristol before she moved to BBC Radio 5 Live and later BBC News 24, where she transitioned from producer to presenter. Her big break came when she was asked to step in as a presenter on BBC Breakfast, a role she held for over a decade.
She has reported from conflict zones, including embedding with British troops in Afghanistan, and has conducted high-profile interviews with figures such as Prime Ministers David Cameron and Boris Johnson, as well as global leaders like Al Gore.
