Pippa Crerar is a multi-award-winning political journalist who has covered Westminster and international politics for more than two decades, reporting on six general elections, seven prime ministers, and many major news stories, from the Iraq war and the financial crash to Brexit and parliamentary scandals.
She is currently the political editor at The Guardian and previously held the same position at the Daily Mirror, where she exposed the Partygate scandal during the Covid lockdown.

Pippa Crerar launched her journalism career in 1999 as a recipient of the prestigious Scott Trust bursary. She went on to cover politics for several major publications, including the Evening Standard, The Guardian, and the Daily Mirror, establishing herself as a prominent political reporter.
She also held the position of Deputy Political Editor at The Guardian, where she co-hosted the Politics Weekly podcast. After working as Political Editor at The Mirror from 2018 to 2022, she rejoined The Guardian as Political Editor, following a series of high-profile exclusives, including her groundbreaking report on Dominic Cummings’ breach of lockdown rules and then her exposing of the controversial social gatherings held at Downing Street.
In addition to her print journalism career, Pippa has been a presenter for BBC Radio 4’s The Week in Westminster and made frequent appearances on political shows such as The Andrew Marr Show and Politics Live, as well as regularly contributing to Sky News.
Pippa won Political Journalist of the Year and Scoop of the Year at The Press Awards in 2020 for her story on Dominic Cummings’ lockdown breach. She also won Scoop of the Year at the British Journalism Awards and London Press Club awards and Political Journalist of the Year at the Society of Editors’ Awards in that year.
In 2022, she won Journalist of the Year at the London Press Club Awards, as well as Political Journalist of the Year, Journalist of the Year and Investigation of the Year for exposing the Partygate scandal at the Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Awards.
