Natalia Cohen is a world-record holding adventurer, travel advisor, and motivational keynote speaker.
In January 2016, she became part of the first all-female crew to row across the Pacific Ocean unsupported, a feat covering 9,000 miles and completed in nine months.
Not only was the expedition a challenge of physical strength, extreme conditions, and perseverance, it was also a journey to finding a better understanding of human spirit, developing an adventure mindset, and the importance of aligning your values.
With over 20 years of unparalleled experience in the travel industry, spanning over 70 countries, Natalia is a testament to embracing and thriving in the unknown. She is now on a mission to inspire others to break free from their self-imposed limitations, and successfully navigate life’s ever-changing waters.
Natalia has given talks to countries around the world, from the UK and USA, to France, Sweden and Croatia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Brazil and Sri Lanka, to Spain, Malta, Greece, Russia, Australia and Slovenia.

With two decades worth of experience across 70 countries, Natalia Cohen chose an unusual professional path. She has worked as a tour leader for Imaginative Traveller and Tucan Travel, a consultant for Go2Africa, a Project Coordinator for Travellers Worldwide, and an Asia Operations Manager and Latin American Operations Manager again for Tucan Travel. She also worked in management and social media management for a Saddani National Park safari eco-lodge.
Natalia has always loved a challenge, which is evident when you take her experiences across the globe working in the Super Yacht industry:
– Tracking gorillas and primates in Uganda and Rwanda
– Cultural exploration of India
– Photographer in the Med
– Expedition Crew on a Pacific crossing
– 800km walk across the Camino de Santiago
– Stewardess in the Balearic Islands
But her biggest challenge came in 2016, where she set two world records by becoming the first all-female team, and first fours, to row unsupported across the Pacific. All in all, they rowed 9,000 miles from San Francisco in USA to Cairns in Australia, a voyage that took nine months.
In 2017, a documentary was released entitled Losing Sight of Shore; the film was about their oceanic odyssey and follows the extraordinary journey these women went on.

Guest Natalia Cohen for sharing her life changing experience, rowing across the pacific ocean, in such a beautiful story, dripping with life lessons that any team can apply to their everyday work! One that especially stuck with me was, “you can never cross an ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.
Mallika Bhardwaj, Starbucks
Thank you so much for joining our company retreat! People are still chatting about you and your story. It is quite amazing to see the buzz you created and how people are now re-thinking their approach to challenges ahead.
Kelly Schick, C4 Therapeutics
She is a gifted presenter and had our room captivated for nearly an hour. While the story is unbelievably inspiring, the thing we liked the most are the leadership and team building themes that she weaves throughout the presentation. I learned more about effectively managing a team in her one-hour presentation than I did in my 4 years of business school.
Paul Guillien, Co-Founder and Board Member, Backcountry Discovery Routes
Applying a great adventure to the software company’s Go-To-Market team’s kick-off is a tall order. What can be an incredible story on its own often doesn’t translate to the critical messages you want your team to take away. Natalia’s story is the exception. Her ability to envelope the audience in her experience and her mindset, clearly connecting the decisions she had to make to the ones we have to make along our journey was masterful. We were moved, motivated, and inspired to tackle the team challenges we will all face this year with teamwork, grit, and growth mindset. Her commitment to the success of our event and her session were greater than any other guest speaker I’ve seen in 2 decades. Thank you, Natalia, for all that you brought to us.
Doug May, CRO Chief of Staff, Datadog
It was a privilege to hug you and feel the positive energy you emitted. Thanks for sharing your story in such a personal yet tangible way. I have added that event to the top five I ever participated it, and there have been quite a few in my life 🙂
Pete Steinmann, Director Operations Strategy and Development, Swiss Air
Natalia’s incredible story really lit-up Unilever’s recent leadership event. Even though we connected virtually with an audience of several thousand, Natalia’s infectious energy poured through our screens, captivated the team, and brought home so many relevant messages. Natalia shared insights that are so incredibly resonant with where the world is today – perseverance in the face of extreme conditions, dealing positively with change and protracted uncertainty, and the sustaining power of shared values. On top, Natalia was a delight to work with as a speaker – I guess it takes that kind of attention to detail to survive rowing the Pacific!
