In 2016, Chanté founded Bristol is the New Black, which was an O2-sponsored initiative raising awareness of the black people shaping life and culture in Bristol through things like campaigning, art, business.
The project promoted and connected individuals and their narratives to a wider community of inspiring black people in Bristol. The platform enabled tough conversations about identity and culture whilst also celebrating achievements via the podcast and news articles.
While studying at university, Chanté created many opportunities to enhance her studies and develop her skills. The following are just some of the activities she was involved in:
Powerlist Foundation & Deloitte Leadership Programme 2016: Chanté was selected to participate in a three-day programme focusing on the skills required to lead a successful team and generate an appropriate brand image.
The British Youth Council 2014 – 2016: Chanté was the Vice Chair and Member of the Board of Trustees
BBC Points West 2017 – Chanté worked as a Politics Assistant once a week, including filming pieces for the daily news.
Google 2017: Chanté worked for Google as a summer intern, developing skills and gaining invaluable experience.
