Will Satch MBE

British rower Will Satch MBE is one of Great Britain’s best Olympic rowers, having won a plethora of Olympic, World Championship, and European Championship medals of all colours.

In 2020, Will underwent surgery on his hip, which was necessary to address a longstanding issue with his hip joint causing discomfort and affecting his performance.  After going from the pinnacle of sport at the Olympics to not being able to walk in rehab was a tough and challenging experience for Will.

He had set his sights on Tokyo but the cumulative workload began to tell. In his third Olympic cycle Will needed further surgeries including an operation on his heart to correct a worsening case of atrial fibrillation.

Whilst he officially hung up his oars in 2021, Will hasn’t left the rowing world completely and is now an Ambassador for Rowcave – a training studio for the best up-and-coming rowers.

In 2017, Will was honoured with an MBE thanks to his services to the sport.
