Scott Minto started his professional career at Charlton Athletic when he was just 17 years old. After 220 appearances for the club, he signed for Chelsea in 1994, making his debut at the Cup Winners’ Cup of the same year. Whilst he was plagued with injuries, he still played in the 1997 FA Cup Final, which they won, defeating Middlesborough.
Soon after, Scott joined Benfica of Portugal on a free transfer, staying there for 18 months and making 31 appearances, before returning to England and signing with West Ham in 1999. He went on to make 51 appearances for West Ham but was once again plagued with injuries.
He then joined the League One side Rotherham United making 52 appearances.
He announced his retirement in 2006 after a total of 368 club team appearances.
