Michael Mosley is a multi award-winning TV producer, presenter, journalist and author with over 30 years of experience at the BBC.
Covering a broad range of topics on science, history and health, he has, more recently, become known for his advocacy of fasting and a low carbohydrate diet for achieving optimal health.
Michael has worked on the production of over 20 films, documentaries and TV series, reaching many millions of viewers. Along with his wife Dr Claire Bailey he has published 12 books, including international best seller The Fast 800 and The Fast 800 Keto
Michael was nominated for an Emmy as executive producer of The Human Face with John Cleese and was named Medical Journalist of the Year by the British Medical Association. Not limited to TV, Michael regular writes for the Mail on Sunday and previously wrote for The Independent and The Times.

Michael has been involved in making programmes for the small screen for nearly four decades, including work with stars of TV John Cleese, Jeremy Clarkson, Professor Robert Winston and Sir David Attenborough.
Michael devised and executive-produced three the hugely popular Pompeii- the last day, Supervolcano and Krakatoa and was executive producer of QED, Trust Me I’m a Doctor and Superhuman, and presenter on Eat, Fast Live Longer; and The Truth about Exercise.
In 2021 Michael presented How to Keep a Healthy Weight on Channel 4 and Diagnosis Detectives on BBC Two. Exploring issues around the obesity crisis, he presented Michael Mosley: Who Made Britain Fat? in 2022, which was broadcast on Channel 4.
Since 2021, Michael has also hosted a BBC Podcast Just One Thing in which he reveals surprisingly simple tips that are scientifically-proven to change your life.
Back in 2012, Michael presented Eat, Fast, Live Longer, an episode of the long-running Horizon series on BBC. Here he explored the science behind the ancient idea of fasting, which he found to have life-changing results.
Michael first became interested in intermittent fasting when he discovered, through a random blood test, that he had type 2 diabetes. Determined to find a drug-free way to ‘cure’ his diabetes, he tested a number of different forms of intermittent fasting.
Following the success of Eat, Fast & Live Longer Michael co-authored a book called The Fast Diet with Evening Standard journalist Mimi Spencer. Since then, he has authored a number of best selling books, including The 8-week blood sugar diet:how to beat diabetes fast; The Fast 800 Diet; and The Fast 800 Keto. Based on his popular podcast, Michael’s latest book is Just One Thing, published in 2022.
Following the success of his 2019 theatre tour Trust Fast Health, Michael will be taking to the stage again in 2024 with his wife Dr Clare Bailey in their theatre show Eat well, Sleep better, and Live longer! With the growing issue of mental and physical health problems, Michael and Clare will reveal how simple life changes can have a transformative affect.
