In 2020, she was working on three productions due to open, including Dreamwork’s Madagascar the Musical, which had been flown to New Zealand.
Unfortunately, the pandemic caused all three productions to close. During lockdown, Libby pursued her interest in wine and qualified with WSETs (Wine and Spirit Education Trust).
In January 2021, she launched Bacchus & Brodie Wine Consultancy and shortly after joined City AM as their regular wine columnist, where she writes the “Wine Without The Snobbery” page.
Libby also co-founded The Wine Collective with three other women in the wine industry, a social media strategy company working with brands and regions to create effective campaigns to achieve goals for growth. They aim to make wine relevant, attract younger, more diverse consumers and improve the visibility of women in wine.
Libby is passionate about wine and is passionate about accessible communication about wine or as she sees it, ‘translator’ of the world of wine. This is evident in the wine tourism course she created for Lonely Planet affiliate Bright Trip, in her YouTube channel ‘Boozy & The Beast: How To Drink Better’, as well as her recent series ‘Roaming The Rhone’. Libby has also featured in a number of other publications including Conde Nast Traveller and The Buyer. Her down-to-earth, snobbery free writing have made her a popular choice for those thinking about and choosing wine.
“What Libby does is extraordinary. I love her enthusiasm, professionalism, the way she presents and her encompassing wonderfulness. She’s obviously a very special person. Thank you for joining the wine tribe, the whole wine world is a richer place for it.”
