Leah Davis is a radio presenter, stand-up comedian and voice-over artist, who can be heard five days a week on Capital XTRA.
She joined the hip hop and RnB station in 2017 and has hosted the late show since 2019.
A relative newcomer to comedy, Leah Davis ignited her comedy journey in March 2022. In a short space of time she has already earned an impressive array of achievements and milestones that have taken others several years. She has won the infamous Blackout at Up The Creek and Ding Dong Gong, while also been a finalist in Funny Women 2022 and British Comedian of the Year finalist in the same year.
Leah’s magnetic charm, comedic prowess and infectious laugh make her a rising star in both the radio and comedy worlds. She has a laid-back, assured stage presence, and room-warming persona, which is a front for routines with big punchlines.
As well as being a stand-up comedian, Leah is an established presenter, event host and voice over artist.

Leah went to Royal Holloway University of London where she studied French with Politics and International Relations. It was at Royal Holloway University that she got a taste of radio and presenting, hosting a programme on the university’s Insanity Radio.
After university she worked as an intern for Columbia Records before winning the position at Capital Xtra. She now hosts the late show Monday to Thursday and the early morning show on Saturdays.
Being very passionate about books and literature, Leah founded and hosts the CapitalXtra Book Club, also available as a podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Each episode uplifts and highlights black voices, while educating audiences on topics like racial injustice and female empowerment.
She interviews black authors about their work and previous guests include Amber Rose-Gill, Yewande Biala, the hosts of the Receipts Podcast, Candice Brathwaite-Aboderin, Jordan Stevens and Malorie Blackman.
Leah has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s A Good Read, at the 2021 Cheltenham Literary Festival and hosted the 2021 Headliners online festival which celebrates the hottest books for the summer. She hosted the 2021 student radio Amplify Awards and is a regular contributor to lifestyle blog Sistem Magazine.
She has hosted several live panels at book festivals over the past couple of years, including the Cheltenham Literature Festival and the Henley Literary Festival.
