Kirsty Gallacher is one of the UK’s most versatile broadcasters and presenters, best known for her time at Sky Sports.
Over a two-decade tenure, Kirsty became one of Sky’s most recognisable faces, anchoring flagship shows and covering sports events like the Ryder Cup, The Masters, Wimbledon, and the Olympics. She interviewed many big names, including Anthony Joshua, Jordan Spieth and David Beckham.
A dynamic brand ambassador, Kirsty has collaborated with a diverse array of lifestyle, wellness, and fitness brands such as Sweaty Betty and  Speedo.
She currently presents her own weekend show on Gold Radio.
Born in Edinburgh in 1976, she is the daughter of former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher, and grew up at the renowned Wentworth Golf Club where her father was head professional. Surrounded by sport from an early age, Kirsty developed a passion for fitness and media, which led her into broadcasting. She began her career behind the scenes at Sky in the mid-1990s before quickly moving into presenting, where her natural charisma and polished delivery made her a household name.
After completing her schooling in Edinburgh, Kirsty initially pursued her interest in fashion and journalism, studying at the London College of Fashion. Her career in broadcasting began almost by chance when, in 1996, she joined Sky Sports as a production assistant. Working behind the scenes gave her invaluable insight into the fast-paced world of live television, and her professionalism quickly caught the attention of senior producers.
Within two years she was promoted to on-screen work, making her presenting debut on Sky Sports News in 1998. Kirsty’s natural confidence, poise and ability to communicate with clarity established her as a fresh and engaging presence on the channel. She quickly moved beyond rolling news to fronting specialist programmes and live sporting events.
Since making her breakthrough at Sky Sports News, Kirsty has gone on to enjoy a varied and high-profile media career spanning more than two decades. She became one of the channel’s most familiar faces, fronting live coverage of major sporting events such as the Ryder Cup, Wimbledon and the Olympics, while also branching into entertainment television with programmes including Kirsty’s Home Videos, Gladiators, and The Games.
Beyond television, she has worked in radio, hosted corporate events, and partnered with leading fitness and lifestyle brands, building a reputation as a versatile presenter with wide appeal. More recently, she has combined broadcasting roles with ambassadorial and charity work, cementing her status as a trusted, dynamic figure in both the media and public life.
She also used to front ITV’s hugely popular Soccer Aid – the charity football match which pits celebrities against legendary footballers for UNICEF.
In addition, she presented Sky One’s Gladiators alongside Ian Wright, ITV’s Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Channel 4’s The Games.
In 2015 saw Kirsty take part in the hugely popular BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.Â
Following her departure from Sky in 2018, Kirsty returned to radio and television. In mid-2021, she co-presented The Great British Breakfast on GB News until late 2021, stepping down due to a benign tumour affecting her ear.
From April 2021 she also hosted a show on Smooth Radio, and in January 2025 began hosting the weekday Drive show on Gold Radio. She also continues to front ITV’s annual Soccer Aid alongside Dermot O’Leary

Alongside her broadcast work, Kirsty has worked with several recognisable brands in ambassadorial roles, or hosting duties, including Freemans, Hello Fresh, Kinetica, Skin & Me, Sloggi, Speedo, Sweaty Betty, Ultherapy, Vauxhall, Wellwoman, and William Hill. She is also a passionate ambassador for charities such as Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Born Free, and Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.
She has been active in the public speaking and hosting circuit, participating in events like Radiocentre’s Tuning In North conference in March 2025, where she hosted discussions on audio strategy and digital advertising. She interviewed a range of speakers, including Arafa Heneghan, Director of Brand at AO, discussing AO’s use of radio and audio to build brand fame, and was part of the overall lineup that included other leaders from the media and advertising industry.
