Alex MacQueen

Alex McQueen is a BAFTA-nominated British actor who has appeared in many TV, film and radio productions, including 75 episodes of Holby City, playing the sarcastic anaesthetist Keith Greene.

In a career spanning over 20 years, Alex MacQueen has appeared in more than 40 films and over 60 different TV programmes, including multiple episodes of The Inbetweeners, Hilda, The Thick of It and Hunderby, among many others.

He is best known for his role as Julius Nicholson in the BBC’s Thick Of It and as Neil’s dad in the Channel 4 comedy The Inbetweeners. He has worked alongside various Directors including, Woody Allen, Kenneth Branagh and Richard Curtis.

In 2016 Alex starred opposite Sir Michael Caine in Paolo Sorrentino’s Youth. Later that year he appeared alongside Sir Kenneth Branagh in The Painkiller as part of the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company season at The Garrick Theatre, London.

Alex was nominated for Best Comedy Actor at the BAFTA’s for his for his role in the HBO series, Sally4Ever and Best Actor at the Evening Standard Film Awards for his role in Film 4’s The Hide.

Alex hosted the Downing Street Debates with former Prime Minister David Cameron at Number 10, hosted in partnership with the charity, Debate Mate. He has featured at the Edinburgh International Television Festival as a guest speaker.
