Becky Spencer’s first foray into goalkeeping was at her first and middle school, and it was a love that would stay with her.
Her professional debut came in in the early 2000s, playing as a junior with Watford Ladies and Arsenal Ladies. She joined Arsenal’s senior team in 2006 where she would play as the understudy goalkeeper. Becky made her Premier League debut in 2008 against Millwall Lionesses. She was named in the squad for the 2008 FA Women’s Cup, before being loaned to Gillingham Ladies in 2010.
Since then, Becky has played for the French club ASJ Soyaux, Birmingham City, Chelsea, and West Ham, whom she left in 2019, and now plays as Tottenham Hotspur’s goalkeeper.
On an international level, Becky has represented England in the Under-15s, Under-19s, and Under-20s, playing at World Cups and EURO Championships. Due to her heritage, Becky qualifies to play for Jamaica; her debut came in 2021 against Nigeria.
