Julia Stuart is an award-winning sports presenter for England’s Premier League football, anchoring Matchday Live, the global broadcast programme for live matches.
One of the hosts of Team Talks, Julia Stuart can also been seen on the Friday show previewing the weekend matches coming up in the Premier League. Formerly Julia was a presenter at SuperSport international in South Africa.
Julia began her career as a print journalist reporting on football, cricket, rugby in South Africa, before moving to TV as a sports reporter and anchor, hosting a weekly prime time sports programme.
Hosting special events for premium brands has seen Julia link up with Heineken at the UEFA Champions League Final Viewing with Thierry Henry; Puma and Tag Heurer at the Formula E South Africa debut campaign with Pascal Wehrlein.
Julia also worked for Manchester City as part of their Premier League tour in South Africa El Classico Viewing Party for La Liga Africa. She has also hosted events and worked on campaigns for Volkswagen, Discovery, Campari, Telkom, KIA, HiSense and Barclays.
In 2019 Julia won the SAB Sports Video Media Presenter of the Year Award and in 2021 was named Woman in TV at the Momentum Gsport Awards by hosting the tactical analysis show Extra Time Reloaded.
She has a Batchelor of Arts in Film and Media production and also holds an Honours Degree in Media Theory and Practice, both from the University of Cape Town.
Julia Stuart established herself as a prominent journalist and sports broadcaster in South Africa long before her move to London to join the Premier League.
Julia has worked as a rugby writer, general sports reporter for TV news channel eNCA as well as SuperSport’s 24 hour sports new channel Blitz, a content editor for online sports sites and a football writer then sports editor at Independent Newspapers.
For eight years from 2015 she worked at the South African SuperSport channel, working as a studio anchor and pitchside reporter, including anchoring matchday presentations for the FIFA World Cup. UEFA Euros. Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She has also hosted magazine shows like Euro Connect – Champions League and Europa League review show – and La Liga Loca Africa, a show commissioned by La Liga to offer an African focus on the best of the Spanish top flight.
Covering a number of other sports at SuperSport Blitz, Julia worked for the 24-hour news channel, as well as anchoring the coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
She joined Premier League Productions in London in 2023 and has established herself as an integral part of the Premier League coverage.
