Jason Fox also trained as a combat swimmer, demolitions expert, Special Forces dog handler and jungle survival expert.
He joined the Royal Marines Commandoes in 1992 when he was just 16. In 2001, he joined the Special Boat Service and reached the rank of Sergeant. After 20 years of service, he was medically discharged with PTSD.
He moved into the TV and Film industry, initially using his wealth of experience in the Special Forces to support production crews who were working in environmentally hostile areas, such as the jungle, the arctic or the desert.
It was during this period that Jason was part of the team of divers who found the lost treasure of Captain Kidd – one of the most prolific pirates of the 17th century – just off the coast of Madagascar.

Jason now stars in Channel 4’s series SAS: Who Dares Wins, putting members of the public through the SAS Secret Selection in the ultimate test of their physical and phycological resilience.

The start of the Jason Fox franchise has begun, with the groundbreaking series Meet The Drug Lords: Inside The Real Narcos, hailed as Channel 4’s flagship show of 2018. Taking over 2 years to shoot, with a unique editorial and graphic scenes, making never-before-seen TV. Receiving critical acclaim and dubbed ‘The Narcos Whisperer’, Fox has leapt to the forefront of documentary filmmaking and presenting.
Jason has presented the documentary The Final Mission: Foxy’s War in 2019 which saw him return to Afghanistan. In 2026 he was featured in Arctic Adventure: Ultimate Survival, and he has also co-hosted Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test in the USA, and Netflix’s Return to Afghanistan.

Jason is now a successful author of a range of books, including the Sunday Times bestseller Battle Scars, and the follow-ups Life Under Fire, and Embrace the Chaos. He is also the co-author of SAS: Who Dares Wins: Leadership Secrets from the Special Forces (2016).

Jason regularly leads and motivates teams in pressurised environments, designing packages for the ultimate team building exercise including being put thorough challenging and gruelling Special Forces Drills.

Jason is co-founder of Rock 2 Recovery, which helps preserve lives of distressed servicemen, veterans and their families, and an ambassador for ‘Veterans 4 Wildlife’ for the prevention of wildlife crime.
In the summer of 2019, Jason took on the ‘Poor Man’s Gold Rush’; a 2,000-mile kayak and 49mile trek through Alaska and Canada.
He will be raising funds for the Special Boat Service Association and Rock2RecoveryUK.
