“One of the finest female comics at work.” – The Observer
Whether you’ve seen her on television programmes such as Have I Got News For You (2005-2017) or Mock the Week (2007-2012), heard her on radio shows including Just a Minute and Steve Wright in the Afternoon, or caught her live at one of her award-winning shows, the chances are, you are already familiar with Jo Caulfield’s work.
Jo Caulfield can regularly be seen headlining some of the UK’s best comedy clubs as well as speaking at and hosting events for many of the world’s leading brands.
Jo is also a respected writer, having written for the likes of Graham Norton, Ruby Wax, Zoe Ball, Joan Rivers, Ant & Dec and Anne Robinson.
It was whilst working as a waitress in London that Jo Caulfield got her first taste of comedy, entering an open mic night whilst somewhat drunk. Unfortunately, whilst her alcohol-fuelled state took care of any first-night nerves, it did little to help her remember what she was talking about. But the spark had been lit, and she became determined to take comedy seriously. Working her way up the ranks over the next few years, she soon made a name for herself on the circuit, landing bigger and better gigs.
See Jo on the John Bishop show…

She also created and hosted a regular spoken work and comedy evening at the Scottish Storytelling Centre called The Speakeasy. The TV-length series brought together comedians, storytellers and performers to share a little something with the audience, whether it be a funny tale of something that has happened to them, or personal stories of family life.
As well as her live shows, Jo is a familiar face on our TV screens and voice on our radio waves.
Her comedy TV appearances include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (2009), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (2001-2005), Dawn French’s Girls Who Do Comedy (2006), Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, and World Stand’s Up (2004). Jo was great. She was timely, and funny, used the whole 15 min for her skit and made sure the awards didn’t finish before 22.20 which was really good. She was great with the crowd and the jokes landed well. We were a bit concerned as she made jokes about all of our sponsors individually but they did all enjoy it and it was all superficial so I don’t think anyone got offended. However, I would say if we had more sponsors it would have been a bit too long to talk about them individually. Overall it was a great night and everyone had a good time, I hope Jo enjoyed it too!:)

The ‘I’ll do 20 minutes and see how it goes’ turned into 40 minutes of hilarious stories and tailored material for the CIPD audience. I didn’t speak to a single person who wasn’t impressed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jo and will definitely plan to work with her again.

Jo Caulfield is incapable of doing a bad show, so sharp is her tongue and so in tandem is it with her mischievous mind.
