Whilst best known for her solo appearance on The X Factor (2014), this was not Fleur East’s first foray into the world of TV Reality shows. She appeared on the show in 2005 as part of a girl group. Knocked out in the first round, Fleur decided to focus on her solo act, believing she could make it on her own.
She began collaborating with other musicians, including DJ Fresh and toured extensively across events such as T4 on the Beach, iTunes Festival, and V Festival. Now with more experience under her belt, she returned to The X Factor in 2014, astounding the judges and the audience. Her version of Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ went to number one on the iTunes chart and saw her signed to Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco.
She released her first album, ‘Love, Sax and Flashbacks’ the next year, with the success of the single ‘Sax’ seeing her signed to Sony Music’s Columbia Records in the US. Her love for music doesn’t stop with her performing; she has hosted musical programmes for Hits Radio, presenting their breakfast and Saturday morning shows.
Thanks to her experiences on The X Factor, Fleur has a unique insight into the inner workings of a reality show. This led her to start her podcast, The Reality of Reality TV, in 2020. Fleur invites fellow reality TV stars to revisit their best and worst moments on their respective programmes. Guests have included The Vivienne from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Alison Hammond from Big Brother, Amber Gill from Love Island, JB Gill from The X Factor, Vicky Pattison from Geordie Shore, and Diversity from Britain’s Got Talent.
Her popular music style and down-to-earth nature have seen her appear on more and more television programmes as a guest or contestant. She has been a guest on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (2016-2023), Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel (2022), The Graham Norton Show (2022), Loose Women (2015-2022), Celebrity Juice (2020-2022), Between the Covers (2021), and Lorraine (2019-2021). In 2021, she became the co-host of ITV’s game show The Void, alongside Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.
The X Factor wasn’t her last experience in the world of reality TV. In 2018 she participated in the 18th series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, where she finished in 4th place behind singer John Barrowman, actress Emily Atack, and football manager Harry Redknapp. She would then participate in the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing (2022), finishing as runner-up behind eventual winner, wildlife presenter and cameraman Hamza Yassin.
Fleur is also a talented up-and-coming actress, having appeared in the Apple TV Drama Ted Lasso (2021); she also joined the case of CBBC drama Phoenix Rise (2024).
Away from the world of music and TV, Fleur is an online influencer, providing tips and ideas in fashion, music, and fitness to her 1.8 million social media followers. She also became a first-timer mother and often posts on social media about motherhood.
She has partnered with a number of big companies, including Estee Lauder, Debenhams, and Birchbox. A level 3 certified personal trainer, Fleur is deeply passionate about physical and mental well-being.
We are in the unique position to offer not only Fleur, but also her sister, make-up artist and entrepreneur Keshia East. Together, the sisters launched the haircare business Kurl Kitchen, based on the challenges they had with their hair growing up.
Fleur and team were fantastic to deal with and blew us away on stage.
