Billy Byrne
Billy Byrne is an electrician, with over 50 years of experience. He learned his trade in the 1960s, before going into lighting in the film and television business.
An original member of the DIY SOS team, heās known as ‘The Prince of Darkness’. Billy is often the butt of the jokes but the programme wouldnāt be the same without him.

Billy Byrne has appeared in all the series of DIY SOS over the last 20+ years. He’s worked for the BBC for no less than 35 years, and been on the programme since 1999.
He is well known outside the programme due to losing his daughter to cancer when she was just 20 years old.
He has subsequently been involved in raising awareness and fundraising for Cancer Charities.
