Bev Jones is an award-winning transformational speaker, author and panel host who shares her expertise on preventing and dealing with burnout. Her expertise comes from her lived experience, having battled burnout during a 30-year senior management career.
Bev’s battle with burnout saw her crash through self-harm, paranoia, anger, loneliness, and even suicidal thoughts. While it was the saddest and darkest part of Beverley’s life, she now sees it as one of life’s greatest gifts.
During her transformation and recovery, Bev decided it was her life mission to not only help others avoid what she had gone through but also support others to achieve calm in their lives. Her personable character shines through in her thought-provoking talks. Her honest, authentic account about the dark days of burnout are delivered with humour and her audience receives practical tips to take away.
Bev Jones has spoken at many events of all sizes for organisations such as Welsh and Southeast Water, NHS, HSBC and Mars Ltd. She is also regular panel host and member for organisations such as the Welsh Assembly and Lloyds Bank.
It was in 2009, after 30 years working in senior corporate positions, that Bev Jones was diagnosed with burnout, presenting itself as anxiety and depression. Her life became unrecognisable and she was afraid nothing would ever be positive again, that the fear, anger and negativity would be part of her every day existence.
However, it was to be a gift. Bev went on a tough yet inspirational journey, a journey where her life was turned upside down, her trust in others tested and ultimately a journey of recovery that saw her life go from ordinary to extraordinary.
Reflecting on her own burnout, Bev now understands that it was indeed the bullies, the emotionally abusive relationships and the long working hours that stripped her of herself. It is a pattern she sees all too often in others but something she is passionate about helping others to avoid or navigate.
In 2010, after her own transformational journey, Bev founded her business Awaken Coaching. She has since helped many people navigate life, avoiding burnout but embracing and enabling calm with her mantra ‘life is simple, humans make it difficult’ every present in all she does.
‘Made it Thru the Rain: to light the journey ahead’ was published in 2012 and charts Bev’s journey through depression, her personal journey to recovery and beyond. It demonstrates how our experiences, however painful and challenging, are actually the greatest of gifts.
As well as having published her own book, Bev also often shares her insight and expertise on the radio and in print media. She has appeared in Good Housekeeping, Women’s Weekly, Daily Mail, Prima and The Telegraph, among many others.
She has recently appeared on BBC Wales; Live programme, and has hosted a weekly community radio show in her local town.
Through her inspirational journey, Bev Jones leads her audience through her personal relationship with depression and anxiety demonstrating how the road she travelled through was tough but it was the gift that helped her create an extraordinary life. Beverley leaves a lasting impression on her audiences with the knowledge that they have the resilience to navigate life and bounce back from burnout, depression and workplace bullying.
What sets Bev apart, especially in her speaking engagements, is her ability to distil complex topics into digestible insights. No matter the audience’s level within an organisation, she makes understanding easy and actionable. I’ve seen first hand the positive transformations in my employees after sessions with Bev.
In the world of business, the health and well-being of the team are paramount. It’s the foundation for happiness, productivity, and sustained success. And in this domain, Bev Jones is unmatched.

I was lucky enough to have Bev speak at one of my events recently and can’t praise her enough. Bev shared her experience with burnout and offered inspiration to the audience on the possibility of overcoming burnout. She also gave practical insight on how to spot burnout symptoms and also techniques to overcome the issue from the perspective of burnout in employment and as a business owner. We had rave reviews from all the attendees about how inspiring Bev’s story was, along with how moving it was for her to open up and share so vulnerably.
