Ann-Marie Powell started AMPG in 1999 with the aim of creating something different for her clients. She is focussed on building gardens created by the client, using years of expertise and experience to succeed in making dreams a reality. AMPG work on a range of outdoor landscapes, including private residential gardens, luxury hotels, commercial projects, international gardens, show gardens and historic land.

AMPG’s success has won them a number of awards, including the Society of Garden Designers’ People’s Choice Award, as well as their awards for Best International or UK Commercial Landscape or Garden, UK Commercial or Community Landscapes and Gardens, and Best Hardscape Design, the American Horticultural Society Environmental Award showing the link between gardening and the environment, a special achievement award of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania for a garden on conservation, as well as RHS awards for promoting horticulture in regards to mental health. She has also achieved one RHS gold medal and one silver at Chelsea, and one gold at Hampton Court.

Ann-Marie was listed in Country and Town House magazine as one of their UK Top 20 Landscape Designers and by House and Gardens in their top 50 Landscape and Garden Designer list in 2020 and 2021.

Ann-Marie has published several highly respected books in garden design, including Hard Landscaping for the Garden (2001), Urban Gardens (2006), Landscaping Solutions for Small Spaces (2011), Plans for Small Gardens (2012) and My Real Garden (2021).

She has also contributed her knowledge to national magazines and newspapers such as The American Gardener, Architects’ Journal, Country & Town House, the Daily Telegraph, Elle Decoration, the English Garden, Financial Times, Garden Design Journal, Glamour, the Guardian, Homes & Gardens, Prima, Pro Landscaper, the Sun, the Times and many more.

Since 2010, Ann-Marie has written a blog which covers her gardening career, offers helpful tips and techniques, and supports young people in the industry. Alongside her blog, she frequently posts on her social media accounts, which have a combined following of over 32,000, where she talks about her own garden and those she has created, as well as offering a live show on Instagram entitled ‘My Real Garden’ which looks at gardens in the UK and abroad.

Ann-Marie’s impressive knowledge has seen her presenting and appearing on some of the most popular televised programmes; these include BBC2 programme The Great Garden Challenge (2015), the coverage of the Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows, ITV’s This Morning (2016), and The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Channel 4’s Garden Doctors and Real Gardens (1999-2000), UKTV’s Garden Rivals (2002) and A Garden for All Seasons.

Ann-Marie is also a Judge for the Society of Garden Designers and Landscape Institute Awards and a judge and panel member for the RHS flower shows.
