Alex’s cousin was tragically killed in a knife crime earlier this year. It prompted him to speak out during a live Good Morning Britain broadcast which then became a hard-hitting subject in its own right on the programme which you can see here.

We were asked if Alex would attend a prestigious Head Teachers conference to give his thoughts to the attendees which was passionately received.

Just 6 weeks ago, Alex’s cousin was killed in a knife attack. In a personal investigation for ITV Tonight, Alex reported from the front line of a national tragedy and searches for a solution to the UK’s knife crime problem.

Following on from his passionate interjection in a Good Morning Britain debate about knife crime, which consequently went viral, followed by the very tragic news of losing his own cousin to knife crime, he was asked to present the highly acclaimed RTS nominated Knife Crime and Me” – an ITV Tonight documentary in which he travelled to Bristol, London, the West Midlands and Glasgow to better understand the issues and how to solve them.

From this, he became the patron for Bristol-based charity Empire Fighting Chance who use boxing as a tool for social change and works alongside other charities and organisations delivering talks and taking part in panel discussions on knife crime and the climate that produces it.
