Aisling Bea’s love of performing came early, and she often participated in sketch comedy groups while at Dublin College. After graduating, she moved to London and completed a two-year course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Noticing her early roles were, more often than not, comedic, she tried stand-up and was an instant success, winning the Gilded Balloon So You Think You’re Funny award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival just one year after her debut comedy show.

Aisling has been a regular guest on television shows, including Would I Lie To You (2015), Taskmaster (2017), The Last Leg (2016-2023), RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (2022), Lorraine (2021), The Graham Norton Show (2021), Richard Osman’s House of Games (2020), The One Show (2019), The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C (2018), and Room 101 (2016).

She hasn’t completely disregarded her roots though and still acts in TV series, including Lewis (2011), Holby City (2011), Trollied (2014-2015), The Fall (2016), Gap Year (2017), The Roy Files (201), Quiz (2020), Doctor Who (2022), and This Way Up (2019-2021) – for which she won a BAFTA Craft Award for Breakthrough Talent thanks to her writing of the show.

Her comedy has seen her become a big hit, not just in Ireland and the UK, but across the pond in America. She has appeared on chat shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live (2022), Late Night with Seth Meyers (2019-2021), The Late Late Show with James Corden (2021), and The Kelly Clarkson Show (2021). Her acting profile is also rising in the States, with a Netflix special titled The Delivery Man, and a part in the Netflix series Living With Yourself (2019), starring alongside Marvel’s Paul Rudd.
