Trewin Restorick is a sustainability speaker who’s been at the forefront of sustainable change since 2014 with the launch of the charity Hubbub UK, which he founded and led as CEO from its conception until 2022.
The London-based food waste prevention charity aims to change how environmental messages are delivered so businesses and consumers can work together as a force for environmental change.
Trewin has since started a new environmental venture called Sizzle, encouraging people to live greener, more natural lifestyles.

Trewin’s other successful environmental enterprises include: PaperRound – a flourishing recycling business, and Global Action Plan – a long-established environmental charity. Both were built up Trewin’s experience at Friends of the Earth where he was Director of Fundraising, and at Plymouth City Council, where he supported the creation of new social enterprises.
Whilst CEO of Charity HUBUB UK Trewin oversaw the creation of a totally recycled boat built using plastic recovered from the ocean.
The boat was constructed using the skills and resources of a wide range of organisations within the UK. Plastic bottles were collected at the London Ride event with support from Buxton Water. The bottles were taken to the Plaswood site in Scotland where they were mixed with plastic agricultural waste and turned into plastic sheets and lumber.
Here is a short film outlining the success of the project at its launch in Docklands, London.
With Al Gore as his climate change ambassador and mentor, Trewin has gained experience to become one of the country’s leading media commentators on environmental issues.
In 2021, Trewin won Business Green’s ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and in 2022 voted by peers as the most influential person in the UK’s recycling and resource sector.
Trewin currently sits on Tetra Pak’s Global Sustainability Advisory Panel and is an advisor to the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and the National Lottery Climate Fund.
