PROPERTY
Sarah set up her first property development company when she was just 24, alongside her brother and her now-husband.
In 2012, Sarah and her husband and children opened the doors to their exquisite home, Rise Hall, to allow viewers of Sara Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare to follow their long-term restoration project. The show charted the painful yet enriching journey of Sarah and her family, turning a stately home wreck into a unique and beautiful events venue.
Other property programmes include Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country (2020-present), Property Ladder (2001-06), Four Rooms (2016-19), Britain’s Best Home (2003), Double Your House For Half the Money (2012-14), Kate Beeny’s How to Sell Your Home (2014), How to Live Mortgage Free (2017), and Sarah Beeny’s New Country Lives (2023).

In 2015, Sarah joined forces with living solutions specialist Hafele UK to launch the Sarah Beeny Home Collection. She designed a range of high-quality, decorative handles to suit all tastes and projects, from small-scale-upcycling to large-scale revolutions.
As well as her property businesses, Sarah set up mysinglefriend.com in 2005, a successful and unique online dating site, and online estate agent Tepilo in 2014.

CANCER
Sadly, in 2022, Sarah revealed she had breast cancer and would undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Her mother died from the same disease when Sarah was just 10 years old. In November 2022, a documentary was commissioned by Channel 4 to follow her and her family whilst she went through treatment. Sarah Beeny vs Cancer aired in 2023. Thankfully, in April 2023, she was given the all-clear.
Even before her diagnosis, Sarah has been a keen supporter of cancer charities, particularly the Brain Tumour Research: “I want my generation to look back in future years and be incredulous that anyone died of cancer. I want to see a day when cancer is no longer life-threatening, when the notion that cancer could be a killer is thought absurd”.
