In 2020, he published 65 Roses and A Trunki: Defying the Odds in Life and Business, where he tells his story of a life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis, losing his sister to the same illness, and defying the limits put on him at birth to build a globally successful brand.
In 2011, he was awarded an MBE from the late Queen for services to business, an Honorary DEng from Bath University in 2015, and an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration from UWE in 2018.

ENTREPRENEUR
Rob’s first break into the entrepreneurial world came in 2006, when he presented his Trunki suitcases to investors on Dragons’ Den. Sadly, it was not chosen on the show – in fact, he was told his idea was “worthless”. But this didn’t sway him, and the product has now become a staple in family travel. They have sold over 5 million suitcases in over 100 countries, and has gained more than 120 industry accolades, including the SME of the Year at the National Business Awards.
Trunki was brought by Heroes Technology Ltd in 2023, with Rob staying on for a year as their General Manager.
In 2021, he founded Aphelion Agency Ltd, a firm that empowers brands to thrive on Amazon through taking control of product portfolios and driving customers to a brand through advertising. And then in 2023, he co-founded Zeepy, a start-up dedicated to enhancing natural sleep for young children through sleep podcasts, sleep training devices, and sleep guides.
CHARITY
Rob uses his position in the industry to raise money and awareness for two particular charities. the first being The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
He was born with the condition, as was his twin sister who sadly passed away. He was given limitations at birth but he has smashed through them, not letting them stand in the way of achieving his personal and professional goals. He is also patron of the Trust’s “Sixty Five Roses Club”, which is designed for those supporters who can donate a minimum of £1,000 on a yearly basis to help with projects supporting people with the condition.
He also supports The Prince’s Trust, thanks to their support in him. Unsure of how to get his business off the ground, he approached the charity in 2003 and took part in their enterprise programme, providing him with a mentor and business advise, as well as a loan to get him started. He is now an active ambassador of the Trust.
SPEAKING
Rob likes to share his experiences within the entrepreneurial sector, and has spoken to SMEs, large corporates, charities, and educational establishments. He is also available for award ceremonies, Q&A sessions, and after-dinner talks.
