Nisha Menon started her career as a Medical Microbiologist, then turned into family business NIKASU (manufacturing Indian Frozen food products) after her kids were born. She expanded and built the UK and European customer base for the business, alongside managing her family.
In 2019, she launched Jack & Chill with a mission to educate everyone about the versatility of Jackfruit and provide delicious meat alternatives to vegans & vegetarians. Their Jackfruit Burgers, Biryani & Pulled Jackfruit are available to buy from Whole Foods, Planet Organic and over 500+ independent health stores in the UK, Ireland & Europe.
They also supply restaurants, caterers and several well-known manufacturers & food service customers.
During the pandemic, the business was massively affected and went to zero sales overnight, plus
holding 10 tonnes of stock for customers! But they gradually pivoted in a few weeks and expanded into Iceland, launched their cookbook on Amazon and started selling online.
She has a passion for motivational speaking, where she inspires young adults, entrepreneurs and small businesses with her story of building resilience, obstacles she faced, the lessons she has learned and how to bounce back when life gets tough!
She also mentors and gives motivational talks to students and aspiring businesses along with giving talks at industry events & exhibitions.
Nisha is the ‘Jackfruit Expert’ and has spoken at various industry events where she shares her insights about the popularity of the most sustainable Jackfruit in the vegan menu.
