Nahla Summers is a global keynote speaker, culture strategist, and the founder of KQ² – The Human Equation, a framework designed to help leaders and teams navigate an AI-driven world with emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and human connection.
She works with organisations ready to reimagine leadership – not just as a position, but as a mindset. Her keynotes inspire deep personal reflection, offer practical tools for connection, and show that the greatest advantage in the modern workplace is, in fact, human.
She has written three books to date, A Culture of Kindness (2019), 44 Rays of Sunshine (2017) -Winning Most Inspirational Book 2017, and The Accidental Adventurer (2021), and has been awarded the Points of Light award from the Prime Minister.
Using her specialist KQ² theory, along with her 15 years of experience in senior leadership and extensive research, Nahla Summers transforms organisations to provide them with quantitative change; Including higher productivity, improved employee retention, engagement and reducing stress and anxiety in the workplace.
Through her talks, she inspires a mindset of positive change in her audiences and organisations as a whole. She is improving the way people and businesses co-exist by delivering powerful research examples and actions that allows organisations to work towards a more sustainable future and build stronger teams and mindsets.
As well as creating change within organisations, Nahla has a wealth of inspirational stories from her mission since 2012 to change the way the world interacts.
At the heart of KQ² there is a powerful equation:
KQ = Kindness Quotient
KQ² = Y x X
Y = You: Self-Awareness, Emotional Regulation, Mindset
X = Others: How You Communicate, Collaborate, and Lead
Leaders must begin with Y, developing their awareness and self-management, before they can truly influence X, their relationships and teams. This dual focus builds trust, emotional intelligence, and resilience at scale. This raises the level of KQ of every leader and doubles down on exceptional workplaces.
The model bridges personal and organisational growth, offering audiences something memorable and actionable. It also directly aligns with the growing demand for expertise in emotional intelligence, wellbeing, personal development, and human-centred leadership in the face of AI and change.
She set herself the challenge to start a global conversation about kindness through completing sponsored challenges. She has, to name a few, cycled 3000 miles across America after purchasing a bike just six weeks before and walked 500 miles from South to North England with no money relying only on the kindness of strangers.

However, she asks people to show their support for her challenges by simply doing an act of kindness for a stranger rather than the usual request to sponsor money.
Raising thousands of acts of kindness each year she has a catalogue of stories that demonstrates the power that 10 minutes can have. This is a powerful and inspirational message for any group or organisation.
Every year she takes on new challenges and every year she discovers something new about the power that kindness has on people.
Nahla’s expertise has seen her make appearances on television, radio, and in newspapers and magazines, including BBC Radio, 5 Live, BBC World, ITV, Heart, The San Diego Union Tribune, Shaw TV, BBC News, Best, Woman’s Own, The Mirror, NBC News, Fox News, Chat, and BBC Spotlight.

Kindness is a recurring gift and having Nahla Summers, Culture Change Consultant and author of A Culture of Kindness speak to our organization had a transformational impact. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented every one of us with our unique hurdles and challenges, both personally and professionally, to overcome. Keeping Kindness at the heart of every interaction has never been so vital, as it is now. Researchers believe that being kind to and helping others gives us a neurochemical sense of reward, boosting positivity and supporting our mental well-being, whilst giving us a sense of purpose and satisfaction. Kindness is also contagious! Nahla brings this to life in a real way that touches your heart and challenges your actions. It just takes one person to bring to life the power of Kindness – it is a character strength for HOW we should live our values at Lombard International every day! We are grateful for the
experience and guidance Nahla has brought to our workplace culture.
Sandra Locke, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, Lombard International
Nahla presented the keynote at our Group ‘Away Day’. The theme of the day was ‘connections’ and the aim was to set a kind and progressive Group culture. Nahla was brilliant from start to finish. Before the event Nahla asked how I wanted the Group to feel, which really made me think what I wanted to achieve from the talk. I said ‘connected and able to rely on each other’, and I have to say that Nahla’s presentation did just that, highlighting the importance of connection, however, it did so much more, convincing us that kindness works for business and inspiring us to be more resilient, kinder human beings. The overall experience was an absolute joy and I am certain the benefits will continue, and multiply, long after.
Ann Richardson, Group Leader, Physical Sciences Group, Dstl.
Working with Nahla was a terrific experience, and truly made an impact on the way in which we hoped to introduce kindness into our ‘way of life’ as a team. The way in which Nahla sought to understand the context, our objectives and how she might best align resulted in a powerful session that continue to influence our way of doing good business, supporting our people and achieving our goals for some time to come. I would highly recommend businesses engage with Nahla; bringing another, but critical lens, to how teams operate, contribute, and engage with wider business objectives – truly making a meaningful impact on self and others – very thought provoking.
Angela Halliday, Director of Social Impact UK & Ireland, Sodexo
Nahla personifies the mission of kindness that she is so committed to. From our pre-chat before recording she was extremely considerate to ensure her messaging, stories and content would suit our aims. Upon meeting Nahla, she was easygoing and an absolute natural when she got into the podcast seat. The conversation with Gail for the Switched on Podcast is all about changing behaviour and mindset across BT and beyond, and this episode is going to have a huge impact in helping our colleagues to understand why practising kindness is important and how they can kick start their journey in doing so – we cannot wait for its release!
Summer Rana, Learning Culture and Marketing, BT
