Mary Berry

Having trained at Cordon Bleu in Paris and Bath School of Home Economics, Mary Berry began her career as the cookery editor of Housewife magazine and later, Ideal Home magazine in the 1960s. However, her first television appearance was not until the 1970s where she appeared on Afternoon Plus with Judith Chalmers as the show’s resident cook.

Mary is commonly associated with the BBC and gained further popularity as a judge on their iconic amateur baking contest The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Junior Bake Off.
