MANDY – TV WORK

Mandy Saligari is also a regular contributor to the ITV breakfast show This Morning (2021), and Jeremy Vine (2020), where she plays agony aunt, giving advice to viewer’s questions on a range of issues from marriage troubles to parenting dilemmas. She appeared on the BBC documentary Professor Green: Is It Time to Legalise Weed (2017), where she helped the rapper understand the root cause of his addiction, and whether addiction is a valid enough reason why cannabis should not be legalised.

She has also fronted a series of documentaries, including Violent Child Desperate Parents (2016-), where Mandy tries to understand the behaviour of some of the country’s most violent and difficult children. She aims to solve the behaviour through helping to re-build family relationships, thereby not just focussing on the child’s behaviour, but the whole family dynamic.

In 2020, she presented the Channel 5 documentary, Addicted to Food: Breaking the Cycle. In the show, we see Mandy visit 24-stone single mother Kara, and provide her with five intensive therapy sessions to get to the root of her eating addiction.

MANDY – THERAPY

Away from television, Mandy founded Charter Harley Street in 2008, one of London’s leading outpatient clinics specialising in private addiction treatment. Having recovered from addiction herself in 1990, she understands first-hand the difficulties in overcoming them.

Together with her colleagues, Mandy provides a living well programme, aftercare tips, a psychotherapy group, therapy for younger people, family support, individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy.

In 2019, Mandy released her book Proactive Parenting: A Guide on How to Help Children Conquer Self-Destructive Behaviour and Build Self-Esteem. The book aimed to take a proactive approach towards your child’s mental health, and to discover what conversations you could be having that may be lifechanging or even lifesaving. The book was a success, and found its way onto the Amazon bestseller lists Books on Compulsive Behaviour for Young Adults, and Books About Parents for Young Adults.

MANDY – WORKSHOPS

She now runs group workshops and hosts interventions and lectures on addiction in an attempt to help others overcome them. Mandy is also passionate about dispelling the social stigma attached to mental health and holds regular talks at schools on early intervention, addiction, emotional coping-mechanisms, and self-esteem.

Mandy is now a well-known public speaker on relationships, family, and addiction. She is particularly interested in early intervention and prioritises lessons learned in early childhood.
