Lynne Lambourne is an interiors addict and a warrior on waste. She is passionate about inspiring people to live more sustainability in a house that doesn’t compromise on style or cost too much.
Her background was very corporate – commercial director at Regus Services Office – until her friends entered her on to the BBC2 programme Great Interior Design Challenge in 2014. The exposure on the programme meant she was soon in demand for room design and styling.
In 2014, 2015 and 2017, Lynne helped style room sets for the Ideal Home Show and hasn’t looked back since. Also in 2017, Lynne won Channel 4’s Grand Designs Live Interior Designer of the Year award, for her room styled on an upcycling and sustainability theme. Everything she had in the room was either second hand, upcycled or made from recycled materials.
Lynne’s work is rooted in a deep commitment to sustainability. She holds a qualification in Sustainability for Business from Cambridge University, which underpins her practical, design-led solutions for living more sustainably. She is passionate about demonstrating how thoughtful, creative design can help tackle some of the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges.
Lynne also runs a movement she calls ‘Warriors on Waste’, where she campaigns against the use of single-use plastic and promotes the use of products made from recycled plastics and ocean waste in her designs. She is an ambassador for the British Heart Foundation furniture shops where she promotes the purchasing of second-hand furniture.
In 2017, Lynne made a documentary to help educate people on their choices when it comes to single-use plastic. You can watch What Have You Done Today to Save the World here…
In recent years, Lynne has brought her sustainability message to the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where she has designed three trade stand gardens. Each of these spaces was created to reflect and celebrate sustainable practices, using reclaimed materials, low-impact design principles, and inspiring storytelling to communicate eco-friendly values. Her exceptional work and leadership in this space have also led to her being invited to serve as an RHS judge at Chelsea Flower Show – a recognition of her influence and expertise in the field.
Lynne is also actively involved in environmental advocacy on a global scale. She sailed as part of the all-female eXXpedition crew, a scientific research mission exploring ocean plastic pollution. She is currently part of Mission One Wave, a powerful campaign raising awareness about the devastating impact of ghost nets and plastic pollution off the coast of Scotland’s Isles. These experiences enrich her talks with real-world insight and inspire her audiences to take positive action.
Through her own sustainable interior design company, Lynne offers a number of adult and child-friendly workshops, from furniture upcycling to children’s upcycling, terrarium making and creating a sustainable future. She is an Ambassador for the British Heart Foundation Furniture Shops, promoting their #reuserevolution campaign which aims to get more people re-purposing old items rather than buying new.
She is the resident expert at The Grow Up, “your friendly helping hand to grow your own fruit and vegetables, whatever your available space.” Her passion for the environment has led her to appear on the EarthCycle website, saying “Earth Cycle caught my eye given the team’s real focus on sustainability and eco-friendly products. All the composts and topsoils they create are peat-free, organic and locally sourced too. It felt like a perfect pairing given my focus on climate-conscious gardening.”

With a confident, energetic presence and natural storytelling ability, Lynne is a compelling speaker both on stage and in front of the camera. She has worked as the face of several eco-conscious brands on YouTube and digital campaigns, offering both authenticity and relatability. Her infectious enthusiasm, deep knowledge, and creative flair make her a powerful voice for change and a unique addition to any panel, event, or brand campaign.
