Katie Taylor is the founder and CEO of The Latte Lounge, creator of The Midlife Festival, a menopause consultant, as well as a podcast host, author and speaker.
The Latte Lounge is an online platform for women over 40, created to help women in midlife, supporting them to thrive at home and in the workplace.
After suffering for four years with misdiagnosed symptoms of perimenopause, Katie Taylor was inspired to create the Latte Lounge. This was in 2016. The invaluable community now supports more than 80,000 women with evidence-based information about women’s health.
The Latte Lounge also hosts a variety of events, including a hero event ‘The Midlife Festival’, which in 2022 saw more than 13,000 women register to join.
Katie Taylor regularly appears in the national media, speaking about menopause, perimenopause and the experiences of women in the midlife. She is the host of The Midlife and Menopause Uncovered Podcast which launched in 2023 and hit 70,000 downloads in just five episodes.
Katie’s new book, Midlife Matters, will be published by Dorling Kindersley on March 6th in the UK and March 18th in the USA.
Katies new book, ‘Midlife Matters’ is now available to pre-order from DK and other sellers
Katie was 43 when she began to struggle with low mood, low energy, brain fog and anxiety, which replaced her usual bubbly, outgoing and capable self.
Struggling with insomnia, Katie spent four years trying to function on little sleep and the symptoms forced her to give up three jobs in that period
Misdiagnosed and given antidepressants, the symptoms persisted for four years after which she was finally diagnosed as experiencing perimenopause and advised to start HRT immediately.
Straight away Katie set up a Facebook group and The Latte Lounge, a safe space for women over 40 where she could share her story and help others experiencing similar symptoms.
The Latte Lounge is a confidential space for midlife women to connect online and gain access and signposting to a range of health and wellbeing experts.
Katie Taylor has a special interest in perimenopause and menopause support in the workplace and offers events, policy/guideline writing and a consultancy service for organisations who want to improve menopause support at work.
In 2021 Katie supported the menopause All-Party-Parliamentary-Group and the Government’s Women’s Health initiative, providing oral and written evidence to help ensure that menopause was a focus of the new women’s health strategy.
In March 2023 Katie was invited to Downing Street to meet with the Women’s Health Ambassador Professor Dame Lesley Regan and Maria Caulfield MP to discuss the new 10 year Women’s Health Strategy.
Katie returned to Downing Street in the autumn of 2023 to host a menopause in the workplace talk with the No 10 staff.
Previously to The Latte Lounge, Katie spent her career in charity communications, fundraising & event management. She lives in London with her husband and is mum to four children.
Katie Taylor has received a number of accolades for her work raising awareness and supporting women. In 2018, she received the Work Avenue Entrepreneur of The Year. The following year she was the Mpower Community Award Winner. In that same year she was on the About Time Magazine Top 10 Women to Watch list, and was shortlisted for Digital Women 2021 Awards.
I want to thank you on behalf of the Prime Minister and the wider No10 staff, for your wonderful Talk@10 on menopause in the workplace. Your session was incredibly insightful and it is clear your work helps break down the stigma around menopause and ageing.

From my very first interaction with Katie I knew she would make a massive a difference. Her passion to help is only surpassed by her knowledge and desire to make a difference. She has helped and supported me both personally and professionally and I would recommend Katie and the Latte Lounge team without hesitation.

I wanted to say a massive thank you. The Latte Lounge has been fantastic for my business. New clients often ring me because of your group. I honestly never imagined that would happen by joining, as I have usually paid for leads or my own clients recommend. But it has been quite wonderful being in the directory and being a member of the Facebook group too, I have benefited hugely and I don’t think you know. All the other information is wonderful too and that is the reason I joined and stay in this community.
