Jasmine Harman is a British television presenter, property expert, and writer, best recognised for fronting Channel 4’s long-running series A Place in the Sun.
With a career spanning two decades, Jasmine has become a trusted voice on overseas property, lifestyle and relocation.
Beyond television, she is an experienced columnist, charity advocate, and sought-after speaker, sharing insights on topics ranging from ethical travel and wellness to personal resilience and family life.
Her warm, relatable style and wealth of experience make her a favourite with audiences both on screen and at live events.
Growing up in Hackney with her seven siblings helped Jasmine Harman become resilient and streetwise. Initially pursuing a career in the health and fitness industry, she became a qualified fitness instructor and moved to the Algarve, Portugal. There she worked as marketing manager for a luxury health resort, began writing professionally, and hosted a twice-weekly live magazine show on local radio station Kiss FM.
Jasmine’s television career began in 2004 when she won a competitive audition to present A Place in the Sun: Home or Away? on Channel 4 alongside Jonnie Irwin. The popular Channel 4 programme helps British house hunters find their dream properties abroad, often in sun-soaked destinations such as Spain, France, Portugal and beyond. Jasmine brings a blend of warmth, professionalism and deep property knowledge to the show, guiding buyers through the exciting -and sometimes emotional – process of purchasing overseas real estate.
Since joining, she has filmed over 200 episodes, helping British buyers find holiday homes, retire abroad, or relocate permanently. Under her tenure, viewership more than doubled, and the show now airs internationally in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
In addition to presenting property programmes, Jasmine has earned widespread respect for her deeply personal and compassionate work on hoarding disorder. She presented two acclaimed BBC One documentaries, My Hoarder Mum and Me (2011) and Britain’s Biggest Hoarders (2012), which offered an honest and emotionally powerful insight into the struggles faced by individuals living with hoarding behaviours.
The first film followed Jasmine’s own mother’s journey, bringing a rare level of authenticity and vulnerability to the screen. Her sensitive approach helped to break down stigma around mental health and hoarding, and the documentaries sparked national conversations about the condition. Jasmine’s involvement went far beyond presenting – her empathy and lived experience resonated with viewers and demonstrated her depth as a broadcaster and advocate.
She is also a regular contributor on The One Show, GMTV, This Morning and The Travel Channel.
Most recently, Jasmine launched Jasmine’s Renovation in the Sun (Channel 4), a 15-part series documenting her family’s renovation of a rundown Spanish villa after relocating to southern Spain.
Jasmine is a talented and experienced writer, with a portfolio that spans property, travel, lifestyle, and wellbeing. She has contributed regularly to various national newspapers and magazines, including The Express, The Mirror, and HELLO! Magazine, often sharing insights from her travels, tips on buying property abroad, and personal reflections on family life and wellness.
Her writing often goes beyond property, touching on ethical travel, veganism, motherhood, and mental health, particularly following the release of her documentaries on hoarding. She has a gift for making complex or emotionally challenging subjects accessible and human, helping readers feel informed, inspired, and connected.
Jasmine supports several charities including Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund, Breast Cancer Care and Dog’s Trust.
