Known as the iron Cowboy because of the hat he wears running races so his kids can see him coming at distance, James Lawrence is an ultra endurance athlete who has pushed himself beyond what many doctors believed was physiologically possible.
In doing so he has redefined both mental and physical endurance limits.
From a high school wrestler to a decade in the finance industry whereupon the 2008 crash saw him loose everything.
His athletic career began with a struggle to complete a 4 mile fun run. That shock still inspires him today.

So what has James Lawrence achieved?
So lets start with an Ironman competition. 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride then 26.2 mile run. In 2012 James did 30 of those in one year putting himself in the Guinness Book of World Records.
In 2015 he went further, completing a 50-50-50. That means 50 Ironman triathlons, in 50 consecutive days in 50 different US states, all while raising money to combat childhood obesity. His feat became the subject of an acclaimed Amazon documentary.
But that wasn’t enough.

In 2021 he did the unimaginable. He did the Conquer 100. 100 Ironman distance triathlons in 100 consecutive days. That’s 140.6 miles per day, every day for 14 straight weeks – 14,060 mile in total.
Just for some light relief, James filled in his time between summiting Mount Kilimanjaro on a bicycle, completed the Fiji Eco Challenge, The Race Across America, the Norseman World Championship and a 235 mile race across Greece.
