Currently, Helena is a freelance correspondent and news presenter for clients including ITN. Previously she served as Global Correspondent for NBC News covering major stories including the COVID pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement.
In addition to English, she is fluent in French and German.
Previously she was a regular face at Deutsche Welle, Germany’s international broadcaster, where she anchored around the clock coverage, was deployed to cover protest movements and terror attacks, and ultimately served as Washington Correspondent during the Trump administration. She also has a sound knowledge of economic issues, reporting every year from the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Helena is a superb moderator and host on a wide range of subjects including International Relations, Human Rights, Development, Europe, Climate Change and Culture.
A further string to Helena’s bow is her work in the humanitarian sector. She was a spokesperson for the Red Cross, during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. She has also held positions at the United Nations in Geneva and Manila. As such she has deep knowledge of development issues and public health.
She has moderated high-level panels attended by world leaders, at COP climate summits, G20 meetings, and the World Health Summit. She has also presented courses on climate change for WWF, and led discussions on Europe for the Erasmus programme.
