Gloria De Piero’s career was much more broadcast focussed than House of Commons at first; she was first a researcher for ITV’s Jonathan Dimbleby (1994-2006), then on BBC’s On The Record (1998-2002), before becoming the political editor for GMTV (1993-2010), where she stayed for seven years.
In 2010, she was elected a Labour MP and leader Ed Miliband appointed her as a Shadow Culture Minister; she then became the Shadow Minister for Crime Prevention and Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities. When Jeremy Corbyn took over as leader of the party, he made Gloria the Shadow Minister for Young People and Voter Registration, a position she took on for one year, before becoming his Shadow Justice Minister.
In 2020, she was announced as a presenter on the new Times Radio station. After a year she left the station and was named as the new presenter of GB News and would be presenting her own programme on the channel titled The Briefing: Lunchtime with Gloria De Piero.
Gloria is very passionate about people and what they have to say and brings this enthusiasm to her talks. In 2012, she decided to take herself on a national tour called “Why Do People Hate Me?” to discover why voters were so disenchanted with politicians. She visited a wide spectrum of places including bingo halls and exercise classes to hear directly from people in order to take action.
She has a broad range of experience in TV production, politics, TV presenting and radio broadcasting, and her warm personality and wit come through when in front of an audience.
