Dr Honor Townshend is a presenter, researcher and lecturer in all thing’s true crime and Criminology.
Her recent research projects have looked into illicit substance use, gender identities and crime, the dark web, and deviant subcultures. She has a background in studying all elements of Criminology, from theory to criminal justice.
Dr. Honor Townshend has contributed to the field of criminology with her diverse range of published papers and book chapters, covering a variety of topic areas. Her expertise has been showcased in programmes across Channel 4, Vice World News, Discovery, Channel 5, Crime + Investigation and Amazon Prime.
Recently she has shared her expert opinions as a contributor in two Crime + Investigation documentaries, Body in the Suitcase: The Murder of Deborah Chong and #DEAD2ME. Dr Honor launched a podcast #DEAD2ME:The Interviews speaks in greater detail to some of those affected by the crimes featured in the series.

Honor has a degree in Criminology from Birmingham City University, a Master’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from City University of London and a PhD in Criminology from the University of Hertfordshire. She also has a qualification for teaching in Higher Education.

DEAD2ME is an innovative true-crime series that tells the sobering story of those who thought they had found love online but ultimately ended in tragedy. Dr. Honor provided expert insight into the making of the 10-part series, which has been shown on Netflix, Sky TV, and Amazon Prime.
Following the production of the programme, Dr Honor launched Dead2Me: The Interviews, in which she speaks to the families of the people at the heart of the cases and contributing experts.
