Dr. Cristiana Pace is a leader and innovator in motorsport with a focus on sustainability and change management strategies.
Cristiana has made her mark in a 20 year career, which has seen her become the first woman to work alongside the FIA technical department in Formula 1, make key contributions to the FIA’s safety legacy and work with Williams Advanced Engineering to advance and utilise motorsport technology both in the industry and far beyond the racetrack.
In 2021, she was voted one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering by WES and The Guardian for her involvement with the Covid Appeal having worked on the development of the Oxford Box, a shield designed to protect NHS staff and patients during the intubation process. She is also an ambassador of the Silverstone Technology Cluster.
Cristiana is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and a Fellow of the Women in Engineering Society (WES). She is a well-respected speaker on technology transfer, motorsport, e-mobility, STEM and diversity.

Dr Cristiana Pace was the first woman to work trackside alongside the FIA technical department in Formula One as data analyst from 2004-2009.
In 2012 she focused on technology transfer, joining Williams Advanced Engineering. In this time, she worked closely with the Formula One management team, writing the strategy for WAE and managing the business development department, winning multimillion pounds motorsport projects including the supply of batteries to the FIA Formula E Championship—a project which Cristiana led between 2013 and 2015.
Cristiana was key to the FIA’s safety legacy, consulting for the FIA Institute for Sustainability and Safety in Motor Sport from 2009 till 2015. In 2016 Cristiana lead the strategy for the wider deployment of safety devices in FIA championships while acting as FIA Safety Delegate in the FIA Cross Country Rally championship.
Having pioneered sustainability and electrification within WAE, in 2017 Cristiana moved on to consulting for an environment-friendly motorsport championship, measuring and reducing the environmental impact of existing technologies and increasing sustainability awareness across the motorsport sector.
Cristiana holds a PhD in Sustainability and Strategic Management from Coventry University, where she is an Honorary Research Fellow. She also serves as a visiting professor at Bologna Business School and is a member of the FIA Environment and Sustainability Commission and the Management Board of BASIS, the British Association for Sustainable Sport
In 2018, Cristiana founded Enovation Consulting, a firm dedicated to creating and implementing sustainability strategies within the motorsport and sports sectors. Her work focuses on integrating sustainability into business strategies, helping organizations achieve their ESG goals through data-driven approaches.
Since then she has been focusing on building data-driven sustainability strategies for the motorsport and sport industry that leverage the technological knowhow available in these industries. Customers include the Williams Racing Formula One Team, the FIA, Motorsport UK and many other motorsport and sport stakeholders.
Dr Cristiana Pace is an ambassador of the FIA Girls on Track UK programme, an initiative, co-founded by Cristiana, aimed at demonstrating to girls and women that there is a rightful place for them in motorsport which has impacted over 2000 girls since its inception. Supported by Motorsport UK, the programme includes various initiatives like karting, STEM activities, and workshops, providing hands-on experience and exposure to different aspects of motorsport.
FIA Girls on Track UK partners with organisations like McLaren Racing, showing their joint commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) in motorsport, providing young girls with unparalleled opportunities to engage with and learn from industry leaders.
Cristiana is highly regarded in her field and as such plays a significant part in a number of organisations and bodies. She is an independent and non-executive Director with the British Association for Sustainable Sport, a Founder and Advisory Board Member with Osservatorio dello Sport e Sostenibilità, an Advisory Board Member with Everything in Sport; a member of the Sustainability Committee with Motorsport UK.
