He is also a Fellow of the International League of Conservation Writers, a member of the British Travel Writers Guild, vice-president of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, and a fellow of the International League of Conservation Writers.

David’s expertise in the natural world has seen him presented with several accolades, including being named the 7th most influential person in wildlife by BBC Wildlife Magazine, winning the HH Bloomer Award 2021 from the Linnean Society of London, and gaining a shortlist place for the 2020 Professional Publishers Association Columnist of the Year Award.
