Danny Jones is a musician, producer and coach on The Voice Kids.
As one-quarter of the multiplatinum-selling British band McFly – alongside Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd – he has sold, as of 2022, over 10 million albums, 20 consecutive UK top 20 singles, seven of which reached number one and fifteen which were consecutive top 10 singles.
Thanks to their huge success, McFly have been the recipient of a number of awards including the 2004 Best UK Band at the Smash Hits Awards, 2005 BRIT Award for Best Pop Act, 2008 Artist of the Year at the Star Smash Awards and 2014 Favourite UK Band of the Decade.
Now passionate about bringing music to the next generation, Danny returned to his old school in 2017 where he talked to over 250 students about what it takes to become a successful music artists. He also released an open letter calling for parents, schools and leaders to support music in state schools as an essential to British culture.

As well as being a successful singer and songwriter, Danny Jones is a keen producer and DJ. He has taken some of McFly’s songs as well as his own and created successful remixes, as well as working with DJ Roger Sanchez under the name ‘The Saturn V’. He has toured the UK as a DJ and written and produced tracks for the likes of Busted, Taio Cruz and One Direction.
In 2017, Danny joined The Voice Kids UK as a coach along with Ronan Keating, will.i.am and Pixie Lott , drawing on his passion for mentoring younger generations in the music industry.
Danny has also been a popular face on our television screens, as a host, guest star and occasional actor. He performed on Children in Need in 2007 and Top of the Pops in 2006; and has appeared in Just My Luck (2006) and Casualty.
He is a popular choice for appearing on reality, news and quiz shows such as The Wheel (2022), Blankety Blank (2020-2021), Paul O’Grady’s Saturday Night Line-Up (2021), Martin & Roman’s Weekend Best! He is also a passionate footballer and assisted Alan Shearer in a charity football match in which England beat the rest of the world team. In June 2021, he was in the starting eleven for Old Habs Football Club where they won the Gareth Dineen Trophy.
Danny often talks about how his childhood and personal life has impacted him in his adult life; his father left when Danny was 18 which made a lasting impression on him, influencing several of his songs. This also affected his mental health, increasing his anxiety and making him wary of falling in love.
