Danny has also been on Celebrity Mastermind, Celebrity Eggheads and Celebrity Money for Nothing He is an ambassador for the Brian Cancer Research charity and was Honda’s Brand Ambassador.
Danny was born in Oxford, to parents of Jamaican heritage. He was lucky enough to travel as a child with his family and Army Officer father which later in life inspired him to give up his sales job and follow a more creative vocation as a garden designer. Danny sees garden design as food for the mind and the soul and great exercise for the body too! He looks much younger than his 63 years.

Danny Clarke is actively running his own garden design company, The Black Gardener which since it’s early roots has now grown to a full-service design company which not only supports garden design, horticulture and landscaping but also related brand, product and marketing. In June 2019, Danny wanted to create a platform to share some of his design ideas and launched his creative blog www.‘theblackgardenerblog.co.uk’.

Danny is now using his own time to support a sustainability consortium dedicated to cutting carbon and climate change. He has made several of his ideas into television features, has book deals under discussion, products in development and new television series being pitched with his name attached.
Danny does not want to be seen as just ‘a garden television’ presenter, he is an ambassador for ‘life’ and entrepreneur for ‘change’. Garden design gave him his voice in the media but it is a start point for much more. Danny’s integrity, values and energy extend to every part of his life – what he wears, what he eats, how he lives and how he chooses to spend his time.
