Chloe Combi is an ex-teacher, educator, researcher, brand consultant, political consultant, broadcaster, podcast host, film director, bestselling author, and international speaker.
Chloe Combi coined the term ‘Generation Z’ – people born between 1997 and 2012 – when she wrote the first bestselling book on the topic, way before the rest of the world became fascinated with them. In her book Generation Z: Their Voices, Their Lives (2015), she interviewed over 3,000 people, and has since added over 20,000 more for her next book about Generation A, due to be published in 2024.
Her unprecedented research into generational shifts makes her one of the world’s leading experts on the matter, and she has become a popular keynote speaker, appearing at events including Edinburgh Book Festival, the London Festival of Education, and Latitude Festival.
Chloe Combi continues to work with both Generation Z and Generation A (believed to be those born between 2012 and 2024), and is one of the most foremost experts on young people.
Chloe Combi has worked in some of the wealthiest and some of the most deprived schools in the UK, culminating in “The Respect Project”, a unique piece of work which focusses on sex, identity, consent, wellbeing, beauty, the toxicity of influencers and the online world, and how we can lessen hate and division. Impressively, Chloe has raised over £1 million in sponsorship to take his project national to reach more young people when they’re at their most impressionable age.
Chloe hosts the very popular podcast, You Don’t Know Me. She provides a “no holds barred insight into the lives of teenagers today, through their own experiences and voices”. She provides a safe space where young people can have the conversations that they may feel they cannot talk to anyone else about. Since its inception in 2020, it has been raved about in The Times, The Guardian, and The Telegraph, with particular emphasis on her skilled interview technique.
Chloe Combi also co-directed the Meta/VR For Good series, Weird Times. The series is made up of five episodes, each of which focussing on a particular “fail” – sexy fail, straight fail, culture fail, happy fail, and brain fail – whereby viewers can become the character on the screen and actually follow the story in their own footsteps.
Chloe creates articles on the online platform Substack, entitled “The (Generation) A-Z”, where she has written about parenting fails, sex, technology, consent, friendship, loneliness, teenagers, pornography, influence, and obviously Generations Z and A.
As well as her own publications, Chloe has contributed work to The Guardian, The Times, TES, and Vice on her generational expertise, as well as appearing on Sky News.
Chloe’s knowledge and expertise has seen her speak around the world about her work, specialising in topics such as:
– Big Incoming Trends in Brands and Social Media (based on serious qualitative and quantitative research)
– Maximising Generational Harmony and Productivity in the Workplace
– What’s Next for Media and Social Media?
– Helping Generation A Manage Technology Better
– Insights Into Significant Teenage Challenges, Including Influencers, Social Media Trends, Language, Learning, Sex, Consent, and Mental Health
– Closing the Generational Barrier: Understanding What Your Kids and Teens are Getting up to Online, In Real Life, and in Their Private Headspaces
Her speaking approach helps audiences identify trends and how best to prepare for them, focussing on finding solutions to any problems, rather than the problems themselves.
A skilled speaker and with a friendly personality, Chloe has appeared at a variety of occasions, including corporate events, and festivals. She is also an educational speaker, providing inspirational talks to both students and staff, particularly about social media, sex and consent, technology, bullying, mental health, and body image. Chloe’s talk at Google in London was brilliantly informative, helping us to understand today’s teenagers and how they view the world around them. A knowledgeable speaker, I would be very happy to host Chloe to speak again.
