Andrew Grill is a sought-after Actionable Futurist with over 30 years of experience in companies including IBM, British Aerospace and Telstra.
Unlike traditional futurists, who look at what life will be like in 10, 20, or more years, Andrew uses future trends to deliver practical insights that can be used immediately.
Passionate about the digital, Andrew believes that “to get digital, you need to be digital”, and his top keynotes provide actionable tips on how to harness technology to achieve long-lasting goals.
Now a popular keynote speaker, consultant, event moderator, and advisor, Andrew has spoken to thousands of delegates at over 500 live events in 40 countries.
Andrew Grill’s love for technology started when he was young and continued throughout his education, where he gained several industry qualifications. These include a Bachelor of Engineering and Electronic Engineering, followed by a Master’s from the University of South Australia, a second Master’s in Information Technology and Telecommunications, and an MBC in eBusiness Management and Marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney.
His first-hand experience of the digital world started very early via online bulletin boards and emails in the 1980s; this passion continued throughout his working life. He has over 30 years of experience in the digital, social and technology industries. This includes working for high-profile companies, including British Aerospace, Telstra, Legion Interactive, Visible Technologies, and IBM – where he influenced over $100 million in sales.
He has been the CEO of companies Kred and PropertyLook – sold in 2006 for over $A9 million. He has also worked as a Business Ambassador for the South Australian Government and sat on the Board of the Rotary Club of Sydney, where, over time, he was named the Director of the Community Service Community, Vice President, and the Director of Technology.
Since 2019, he has been hosting The Actionable Futurist® Podcast, a show about the near future of digital innovations, providing practical and actionable advice from global experts. Guests have included the Vice President of Airwallex James Butland, the Sustainability Expert for Gemserv Trevor Hutchings, International Human Rights Lawyer Susie Alegre, IBM Engineer Richard Hopkins, and Chief Digital Officer at Genpact Sanjay Srivastava.
