Alex Neil

Alex Neil is a professional football manager and former player who has managed a number of English and Scottish football clubs, winning promotion three times.

Prior to becoming a manager, Alex Neil had a successful playing career, which started at the Scottish team Airdrieonians in 2000, before moving to England to join Barnsley.

In 2015, Alex was appointed as Norwich City’s new manager aged 33 years old, making him the the second youngest manager in the Football League. At Norwich he won 17 out of 25 games in his first season and was named Championship manager of the month for February 2015 following five wins out of five.

That year he took Norwich to the play-off final, first beating local rivals Ipswich Town in the semi-finals and then securing their place in the Premier League with victory over Middlesbrough.

Alex Neil talks candidly about his time as a player and manager, the pressure of the job and how to handle the rollercoaster that is football management.
