In 2007, Claire Lomas was in a freak horse-riding accident that left her paralysed. After years of physiotherapy, Claire’s story made national headlines when she completed the 2012 London marathon, over a 17-day period, all while wearing a robotic ReWalk suit (pictured below) to help her walk to the finish line.
Today Claire is one of the most inspirational speakers on the circuit.
Through her talks, Claire demonstrates the utmost determination to succeed, no matter what obstacles life throws your way. Claire speaks openly about the challenges faced when turning her own life around after the accident and her truth, combined with her amazing sense of humour is just what makes Claire a truly engaging, motivational and inspirational speaker.
Here, Great British Speakers’ director Jane Farnham chats to Claire about her accident, overcoming challenges and how she became one of the country’s top motivational speakers.
November 18th – December 18th is Disability History Month and Claire’s motivational story is sure to inspire. From discussions on motivation, teamwork, overcoming adversity, to equality and prejudice identity, self-acceptance and so much more…
