At Great British Speakers, we’re here to help make your event a success. Using our awareness days calendar, you can easily plan ahead to ensure you secure the best speaker for your day.
Our corporate events calendar is also here to provide you with inspiration on ways you can help motivate your audience and/or employees this year.
Some of the biggest events on the Awareness Days calendar include International Women’s Day (March 8th) and Black History Month (October) – both of which have become pivotal events for raising awareness of equality, inclusion and diversity concerns within society, and within the workplace more specifically.
.
.
We also focus on the importance of Mental Health, with World Mental Health Day (10th October) and Mental Health Awareness Week (15th-21st May), as well as International Men’s Day (November 19th), which is a powerful reminder for men to take care of their own health and mental wellbeing.
.
.
We know, however, that there are many more important awareness days than those we’ve listed, and will continue to update our events calendar as often as possible to provide you with the latest events news and best topical speakers on the circuit. But no matter the event or occasion, our expert motivational and keynote speakers are here with key takeaways to ensure your event is one to remember.
So if you’re running an event this year and would like to book a speaker for the occasion, get in touch with our team at Great British Speakers.

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 4 of February, repeating indefinitely
Created in 2000, World Cancer Day is held every 4th February and aims to unite the world in raising awareness, improving education and sourcing cures to all cancers, as well as ensuring live-saving cancer treatment and care is accessible to all.
Since its start, World Cancer Day has covered many themes including care, positive mindsets, debunking myths, diet and activity, prevention and, above all else, communication.
At Great British Speakers, we’ve worked hard to secure a team of professional cancer awareness and health experts, who all have personal reasons as to why cancer awareness is an important topic for them. Between them, they highlight ways you can reduce your risk of cancer and how to catch the signs early.
After battling cancer twice, reporter Bridgid Nzekwu is an advocate for physical and mental health and wellbeing. Shortly after leaving school, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and went through gruelling radiotherapy before being given a clean bill of health. Then in 2012 she was told that a benign lump in her left breast had developed into a malignant tumour. Poignantly, it seems the cause of the cancer was the high dose of radiation she had when she was younger, and because of his high does, it meant she was unable to have anymore and so opted to have her breast removed. But once the doctors told her she had a 25% chance of the cancer returning in the other breast, she opted for a double mastectomy. Through her own experience, Bridgit is a speaker who can impart wisdom and truly sympathise with any audience.
