At Great British Speakers, we’re here to help make your event a success. Using our awareness days calendar, you can easily plan ahead to ensure you secure the best speaker for your day.
Our corporate events calendar is also here to provide you with inspiration on ways you can help motivate your audience and/or employees this year.
Some of the biggest events on the Awareness Days calendar include International Women’s Day (March 8th) and Black History Month (October) – both of which have become pivotal events for raising awareness of equality, inclusion and diversity concerns within society, and within the workplace more specifically.
.
.
We also focus on the importance of Mental Health, with World Mental Health Day (10th October) and Mental Health Awareness Week (15th-21st May), as well as International Men’s Day (November 19th), which is a powerful reminder for men to take care of their own health and mental wellbeing.
.
.
We know, however, that there are many more important awareness days than those we’ve listed, and will continue to update our events calendar as often as possible to provide you with the latest events news and best topical speakers on the circuit. But no matter the event or occasion, our expert motivational and keynote speakers are here with key takeaways to ensure your event is one to remember.
So if you’re running an event this year and would like to book a speaker for the occasion, get in touch with our team at Great British Speakers.

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 18 of October, repeating indefinitely
World Menopause Day is an awareness day held every year on the 18th of October – held within World Menopause Month. The aim is to raise awareness of peri-menopause and menopause and support those suffering from physical and/or mental side effects.
Since its inception in 2009, World Menopause Day has covered many themes including cognition, mood, memory, bone health, fertility, hormones, sexual well-being, heart health, weight and medication.
Facts!
Whilst it is spoken about more in mainstream media, peri-menopause and menopause are still seen as a sort of taboo subject, leading to thousands of women suffering in silence. At Great British Speakers, we have a wide range of female speakers, willing to share their stories and provide helpful ways that businesses can support their staff.
Dr Nighat Arif is a family GP specialising in women’s health, such as menopause, family planning and female health equality. She fronted the BBC Breakfast campaign ‘Wake Up To The Menopause’ where Nighat hosted segments about eliminating the stigma surrounding menopause for people of all cultures”
As an outreach clinician, she often meets with other clinicians such as doctors, nurses and community teams, as well as residents, to discuss the unmet health needs of the female BAME community, who are less likely to engage with health professionals. She also hosts regular women’s health workshops where women can come together to express their concerns regarding female health issues, from gynaecological issues, to parenthood & fertility, and menopause.
Elizabeth Joseph has been many things in her life: an actress, a head-hunter, a teacher (with a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and another Master’s degree in Education) and a stay-at-home mum.
She has recently reinvented herself as a freelance writer and columnist writing about perimenopause, menopause and midlife. She has also become a classic, pro-age model in her fifties.
Not to mention a social media midlife influencer known as The Menopause Guinea Pig with 7K followers and growing.
