Born in Dublin, Ireland to an Irish father and English mother.  His journey in cricket began early, showcasing his talent as a young left-handed batsman with an innovative and aggressive playing style.

His international career started with Ireland but he long had an ambition to play for England. After three years playing for his home nation, Eoin made the switch to England in 2009 and went on to play for 13 years up to when he retired from the game in 2022.
